Environmental Chemistry and Science

Using expertise in chemistry to understand natural resource conditions and develop solutions for environmental risks.

“Just follow the science…”  is a common adage when discussing environmental matters and natural resources.  But, most of the time it is not that simple.  “The Science” depends on:  what data was collected, when and how, the quality control/assurance program, the level of variability and uncertainty in the data, seasonal impacts,  and what hypothesis or assumptions undergird the conclusions reached.

We can sort through these factors to develop technically sound information for your situation.  Examples include:

  • Create a plan for aquatic and soil or deposition studies.
  • Research specific environmental chemistry problems or issues.
  • Review studies, data, and other relevant documents to characterize the chemistry and other science-related science conditions in the environment.
  • Development of  strategies to address environmental risks.
  • Prepare sampling, analytical and QC/QA procedures for sampling of environmental media and for the laboratory.
